Our Mission
FileSworn was built for professionals who handle sensitive media: attorneys sharing evidence, investigators transferring case files, journalists protecting sources. We believe that sharing sensitive content shouldn't mean losing control of it.
Traditional file sharing tools like email and cloud storage weren't designed for high-stakes environments where chain of custody matters, where leaks have consequences, and where data minimization is a feature, not a limitation.
How It Works
Cryptographic Integrity
Every file is SHA-256 hashed at upload. This cryptographic fingerprint proves the file hasn't been altered since you uploaded it.
Identity Watermarking
When someone views your content, their identity is embedded into every frame. If content leaks, you know exactly who was responsible.
Automatic Expiration
Auto-expiring links expire and content is permanently deleted. No lingering files, no forgotten access, no discovery liability.
Chain of Custody Certificates
Download a PDF documenting the complete lifecycle: file hash, upload time, who viewed it, when they viewed it, and expiration status.
Court-Ready Documentation
Every file generates a chain of custody certificate supporting Federal Rules of Evidence 902(13) and 902(14). The certificate documents the complete lifecycle so attorneys can submit it with a signed declaration instead of calling a foundation witness.

Every viewer recorded with timestamp, IP, browser, authenticated email. Immutable once created.
FRE 902(13) Declaration
System process description and blank certifier declaration with 28 U.S.C. § 1746 language, ready for attorney signature.
Honest Limitations
Certificate states FileSworn does not certify admissibility. That determination belongs to the court.

FileSworn supports the federal rules that govern digital evidence handling.
What FileSworn Supports
- FRE 902(13): Self-authenticating electronic records. Certificates include system process description and certifier declaration format.
- FRE 902(14): Digital identification via SHA-256 hash value comparison. Hash computed at upload, independently verifiable.
- FRE 901(b)(9): Authentication via evidence describing a process or system producing an accurate result.
- FRCP 37(e): Litigation hold prevents spoliation of electronically stored information during active proceedings.
- 28 U.S.C. § 1746: Certifier declaration uses statutory "under penalty of perjury" language.
- Chain of Custody: Every access logged with timestamp, IP, user agent, authenticated identity. Retained 7 years.
What FileSworn Does Not Do
- Guarantee admissibility: Depends on jurisdiction, case, judge. We provide documentation; your attorney makes the argument.
- Prevent screen capture: No technology can prevent a camera pointing at a screen. Watermarking provides attribution, not prevention.
- Replace legal counsel: FileSworn is a tool, not a law firm.
- Claim SOC 2 certification: Infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel) are SOC 2 compliant. Verifore Technologies LLC has not independently obtained SOC 2.

We believe in transparency about what technology can and cannot do. Unlike vendors who make impossible claims about “preventing” leaks, we're honest about our capabilities.
What We Do:

Watermarking provides attribution, not prevention. If content leaks, you can prove who leaked it. That accountability is often more powerful than any DRM.
